LAHORE:(APP) An Additional District and Sessions Judge Muham­mad Husnain Qadir on Monday issued notice to former Test fast bowler Sarfraz Nawaz on a Rs100 million defamation suit filed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) against him.

Earlier, PCB’s counsel arguing before the court submitted that allegations levelled by Sarfraz were false and were an attempt to get cheaper publicity. The counsel contended that allegations against his client were defamatory and claimed Rs 100 million in damages.

The court after hearing initial arguments issued notice to Sarfraz and sought his reply till April 15.

It may be mentioned that the PCB moved court after Sarfraz lambasted the PCB over allowing banned pacer Mohammad Amir to make a return to domestic cricket and the alleged joyrides of the board members to Australia-New Zealand during the World Cup.
