Bengals leave plenty of questions with practice squad announcement

The Cincinnati Bengals left some serious questions unanswered with the early unveiling of the practice squad. 

First, they claimed a former Eagles player on waivers. Then, those Bengals broke their silence about the squad on Monday, but announced just 11 additions:

• --QB Sean Clifford
• --DT Howard Cross III
• --DE Isaiah Foskey
• --LB Joe Giles-Harris
• --LB Shaka Heyward
• --CB Bralyn Lux
• --HB Kendall Milton
• --WR Jordan Moore
• --WR Noah Thomas
• --S Russ Yeast

For those counting, that’s only 11 of the possible 16 slots filled. 

So far, no surprises on the list the Bengals provided. They kept a third quarterback in town and kept more running backs after going light on the 53. They also kept two of their many solid-looking wideouts (but lost the most popular one).

The real question becomes what the Bengals are looking to do with the final spots. More pass-rushers for depth might make sense. They could also just be waiting on players they cut at the deadline to see if they take opportunities elsewhere. 

Regardless, the Bengals have time to shuffle things around with free agents and even injury lists if needed for someone like Shemar Stewart.
