VIDEO: Angelo State soccer off to 1-0-1 start in Mike Erwin’s first season as head coach

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Angelo State University soccer team is off to a promising 1-0-1 start in Mike Erwin's first season as head coach, and he talked about the Belles' first two games Monday at Media Day.

ASU tied MSU Denver 1-1 on Thursday at the LeGrand Soccer Complex, followed by a 3-1 victory against CSU Pueblo on Saturday.

Juliana Garcia scored the Belles' first goal of the 2026 season against MSU Denver.

In Saturday's matchup with CSU Pueblo, Eleanor Lock found the back of the net on a penalty kick. Zanae Nylund added an unassisted goal, followed by Ava Cantu's goal off an assist by Graham Peeples.

The Belles are in Colorado this week for their first road matches of the season.

ASU will play Colorado School of Mines at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Golden, Colorado. On Saturday, the Belles will wrap up the trip to the Golden State with a showdown against Western Colorado at 10 a.m. in Gunnison, Colorado.
