Lyon set to rival Kansas City to sign Yann Gboho from Toulouse

Olympique Lyonnais have entered the race to sign Toulouse winger Yann Gboho (25), despite a verbal agreement already being reached with Sporting Kansas City, according to Foot Mercato. Toulouse and the MLS club have agreed terms over the transfer, while Kansas City have also reached a contractual agreement with the Frenchman.

However, Les Gones have now positioned themselves in the deal and are considering making a move for Gboho in addition to their pursuit of Keito Nakamura (26), who is set to join from Reims. The 25-year-old Ivory Coast international has established himself as an important attacking player for Toulouse since joining the club from Rennes in 2024.

Lyon exploring late move for Gboho

Gboho enjoyed a strong 2025/26 campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing nine assists across all competitions as Toulouse finished in the top half of Ligue 1. OL are now exploring whether they can hijack the move to Kansas City, with the club seeking further attacking reinforcements before the transfer window closes.
