Shedeur Sanders’ future at the Cleveland Browns appears to be in flux after a preseason that ended with him failing to establish himself as QB1, and with Dillon Gabriel and Taylen Green now part of the roster, there’s a fear things could get even worse. Fans are now starting to believe that Sanders could drop below QB2 too, making it a mountain to climb in the new campaign.

Todd Monken himself confirmed that Taylen Green and Shedeur Sanders would split reps as the scout-team QB, prompting concern among fans, with one saying, “Dillon Gabriel is QB2.”

Skip Bayless Also Predicts Drop Down for Shedeur Sanders

Fan fears were echoed by Skip Bayless, who predicted a lowly number 4 in the QB rankings for Shedeur Sanders amid Todd Monken’s comments.

“I’ll bet you in his mind Todd Monken ranks his QBs this way: 1) Deshaun Watson 2) Dillon Gabriel 3) Taylen Green 4) Shedeur Sanders,” Bayless said. “The only reason the Browns kept Shedeur is that he’s the most popular backup QB ever and they feared the backlash of getting rid of him,” he wrote on X.

The Browns’ opening game against the Jacksonville Jaguars should provide insight into where Shedeur Sanders stands in the QB pecking order.
