The Minnesota Vikings appear to have a new fan in the form of Minnesota Timberwolves forward Jonathan Kuminga.
The Twin Cities-based NBA team welcomed Kuminga in the offseason, with the Timberwolves signing him to a two-year, $12.43 million contract that includes a player option for the 2027-28 campaign.
Before joining the Timberwolves, Kuminga played for the Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks. He spent four-plus seasons with the Warriors, who traded him in February to the Hawks.
Kuminga, who won an NBA title with the Warriors during his rookie year in the league in the 2021-22 season, can be expected to catch some Vikings games in the coming NFL campaign, which is a great way for him to get to know the city better.

In the following IG Story, Kuminga is seen running a route and catching a ball, as though he was trying to make Minnesota’s final 53-man roster for the 2026 season.

Of course, football is not Kuminga’s field of expertise. Minnesota sports fans hope he will deliver for the Timberwolves, beginning in the 2026-27 season.
The same fans are also looking for Minnesota to bounce back after winning just nine games and missing the playoffs in the 2025 campaign.
The Vikings will open their season against NFC North rivals the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 13 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
