Chelsea’s €45m Lamine Camara offer rejected by Monaco

Chelsea have seen a €45m offer for AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara (22) rejected, according to Marc Mechenoua. The Blues had identified the Senegal international as a potential midfield reinforcement, with the West London outfit working to strengthen the position ahead of the transfer window closing.

However, Monaco have turned down the proposal despite the significant fee on offer. The Principality side are understood to have already reached their sales objectives for the summer, meaning they are under no financial pressure to part ways with Camara.

Chelsea’s pursuit of Camara comes amid uncertainty surrounding Enzo Fernández, with the Argentina international attracting interest from Manchester City. The Premier League club will now have to decide whether to return with an improved proposal or turn their attention to alternative midfield targets which include Roma’s Manu Koné.
