AUGUSTA, Kan. (KSNW) — The 2025 season was a turning point for Augusta football.
After beginning the year with a 1-5 record, the Orioles completely changed course by winning five consecutive games. The run included a postseason victory over Mulvane, helping establish a new standard entering the 2026 season.
Head coach Dawson Elliot will have to replace quarterback Brody Haskell, but Augusta returns several key players from the young group.
Running back and linebacker Mason Pringle returns after earning first-team all-conference honors last season. The Orioles also bring back two-way player Jackson Ingram.

“Two years ago, those seniors set up the culture," Elliot said. "Last year's seniors got it going with this group. This year's senior class has to keep it up the standard as good teams in our division have consistent success. That's ultimately what we're looking for here."
Senior wide receiver Cale Wills echoed that sentiment.

Like Wills, many seniors are determined to leave a lasting impact on the Augusta football program.
“My goals for the season are to continue last year’s success and, for me personally, leave something behind," Bridwell said. "I don't want to live off of last year's success; I want to create something on our own and leave behind something for Augusta."
Augusta will take on the McPherson Bullpups on Friday, September 4 at 7:00 p.m.
