LEXINGTON, Va. (WFXR) -- The VMI Keydets are in full swing with their fall football practices. They took time out Wednesday from the fall practices to take a few pictures. VMI held their annual media day at Foster Stadium. This is the first one under new head coach Ashley Ingram. The Keydets trying to get back on the winning track after a 1-11 season. Overall, VMI is on the road back to being a successful program.
"You know, the I think I've said this to a lot of people is from January to where we are today, I don't know that things could have gone better. You know, we had a good off season. We had a good spring ball. Guys did well academically. All the guys are still here. And then we had our freshmen join us in late June and we've made a lot of progress. You know, that being said, you know, we're still a work in progress of half of our football team, essentially are freshmen or incoming rats. So we we've got some work to do, but we're excited about where we are," said Ingram. The VMI Keydets open up the season on the road on August 29th as they play Idaho State.
