We continue the countdown to the start of the Arizona Cardinals' regular season. Today, Wednesday, August 19, is 25 days away from the Arizona Cardinals' regular-season opener on Sept. 13 on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers.

With 25 days until Week 1, let's look back at the 2025 season for the Cardinals.

A look back at the 2025 season for the Cardinals

The 2025 season was one to forget. They started the season 2-0 and then lost 14 of their final 15 games. They lost their final nine games, allowing 37 or more points in six of them and losing by three scores or more in six of them.

Quarterback Kyler Murray injured his foot in Week 5 and did not play again, and he was released in the offseason. The season resulted in the firing of head coach Jonathan Gannon.

They were 23rd in scoring, averaging 20.9 points per game, but the offense averaged only 18.7 over the final nine games. They were 29th in scoring defense, allowing 28.7 points per game.

2025 individual honors and leaders

The Cardinals had two Pro Bowlers and one All-Pro.

Tight end Trey McBride was a Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro. Safety Budda Baker was selected to the Pro Bowl for the seventh straight season and eighth time overall.

Jacoby Brissett, who started the Cardinals' final 12 games, had a career-high 3,366 passing yards and 23 touchdown passes.

The running game was a mess, as James Conner and Trey Benson both had season-ending injuries. Michael Carter led the Cardinals with only 333 rushing yards.

McBride had 126 receptions for 1,239 yards and 11 touchdowns. It set the single-season franchise record for catches. It set an NFL single-season record for receptions by a tight end, and he set a franchise single-season record for receiving yards by a tight end.

Michael Wilson also had a career year, catching 78 passes for 1,006 yards and seven scores.

Josh Sweat led the team with 12 sacks on defense, and Baker's 120 tackles led the team, followed by linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither's 117. Rookie cornerback Denzel Burke led the team with three interceptions and 11 pass breakups.
