Mackenzie Dern is now officially a defending UFC champion after she turned back Gillian Robertson in their UFC 330 title fight.

Dern (17-5 MMA, 12-5 UFC) logged her first strawweight title defense Saturday at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia with a unanimous decision triumph over Robertson (17-9 MMA, 14-7 UFC) in their co-main event clash.

The champion now awaits a potential return of Zhang Weili, although it's unknown if and when the former two-time champion intends to come back.

Those shots from Robertson are not gonna get it done. This is a tough start

— caposa (@Grabaka_Hitman) August 16, 2026

Tough matchup for Robinson, Dern is nasty on the ground and that’s Robinsons path to victory… #ufc330

Great start for the champ almost had the choke at the end there! 10-8 round for Dern

— Henry Cejudo (@HenryCejudo) August 16, 2026

Should be 10-8 Dern but it won't be with the stupid new scoring system.

Robertson survives the choke!

10-9 Dern in the first

Dern went for the Ruotolo choke

— caposa (@Grabaka_Hitman) August 16, 2026

Love when I see this. Threatening the leg attack to sweep and get on top. #UFC330

Not enough from the challenger yet Dern is dominating so far 2-0

— Henry Cejudo (@HenryCejudo) August 16, 2026

I have it 30-27 Dern heading into the championship rounds.

Much better round for Robertson, but I lean Dern

— Aaron Bronsteter (@aaronbronsteter) August 16, 2026

Robertson is going to need a finish Dern is doing a great job controlling the fight. 3-0 for the champ

— Henry Cejudo (@HenryCejudo) August 16, 2026

Dern isn’t perfect but she is looking levels above in jiujitsu, boxing and just overall physicality in this match up.

The champ is cookin' heading into the final rounds!

It’s hard to finish a fighter who is only focusing on defense…

And when I’m heavily invested in a fighter to finish inside the distance their opponent’s love to focus on defense…

— Dan Tom (@DanTomMMA) August 16, 2026

Ok
10-8 Dern
10-9 Dern
10-9 Dern
10-9 Dern

— Amanda Ribas (@amandaribasufc) August 16, 2026

The champ dominated most of this fight outside the last round. Dern vs Weili next 🔥

— Henry Cejudo (@HenryCejudo) August 16, 2026

I scored it 49-46, Mackenzie Dern. #UFC330@MMADecisions

This fight is the perfect expression of why we need a mercy rule in women’s MMA. Because if it’s obvious the underdog can’t beat the favorite and the favorite is up three of five or two of three rounds, might as well stop the fight.
