A Brazilian winger looks to be edging closer to a move to Manchester City

It would seem that Manchester City have settled on signing Allan from Palmeiras to fill void on the right wing in Enzo Maresca’s squad. The Brazilian winger looks to have the attributes both in and out of possession that Enzo Maresca desires in a winger. Allan is exceptional in one-on-one situations with the ball at his feet due to his dribbling ability and speed. Out of possession, Allan is hard working and is alway eager to help his team out of possession.

It now seems like Manchester City are accelerating towards signing Allan from Palmeiras. If that particular deal goes through quickly it will likely be the first of many that City will complete before the transfer window closes.

Manchester City look to be rapidly closing in on the signing of Allan.

Brazilian publication Estadão has reported that Manchester City is closing in on the signing of Allan. Furthermore, it is reported that are prepared to pay a total package of €42 million (£35.9 million) to sign Allan from Palmeiras. It is reported that City are aiming to pay €37.5 million (£32.1 million) as a fixed fee with the remainder covered in add-ons. It is also reported that Palmeiras initially did not want to sell any of their key players. However, Allan’s desire to complete a move to Manchester City and City’s financial power has changed the situation. Lastly, it has also been reported that Allan has been left out of the Palmeiras squad for their upcoming match against Vasco da Gama, which indicates that a deal between Manchester City and Palmeiras is edging closer to being agreed.

One gap in Manchester City’s squads seem to be close to being filled.

Manchester City have plenty of work to do before the summer transfer window closes on September 1st. There are plenty of holes to fill in Enzo Maresca’s squad. They need a winger who can play primarily on the right, plus they need midfield reinforcements and perhaps another striker if Omar Marmoush leaves the club. There is plenty of work to do for the City hierarchy in the transfer market.

It seems that one box is close to being ticked. Allan could be on his way to the Etihad to provide cover on the right wing. That would be good business for City as they seem destined to pay half of what they received for selling Savinho to Tottenham. They can then use the surplus to bolster their midfield, which is likely to be an expensive operation. If Allan adds quality to Manchester City’s squad, that would be a huge bonus.

Manchester City seem to be edging closer to signing Allan from Palmeiras. Perhaps that move will be the first domino to fall in what looks to be a hectic ending to the summer transfer window for the FA Cup and Carabao Cup holders.
