The International League T20 (ILT20) is gearing up for its fifth season, and the pre-auction signings have revealed significant changes, particularly among Afghanistan's talented mystery spinners. Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who has previously played for both the Gulf Giants and Dubai Capitals, will now represent the Desert Vipers. The 22-year-old spinner has been a standout performer, taking eight wickets in the tournament's history, with his last appearance in the 2023/24 season.
Another notable signing is Noor Ahmad, who has now found a new home with the Dubai Capitals. The left-arm wrist spinner has made a name for himself in the ILT20, having previously played for the Sharjah Warriorz and Desert Vipers. In his last season with the Vipers, he impressed with 11 wickets in just eight matches, boasting an average of 21.45, showcasing his potential as a key player for the Capitals.
Waqar Salamkheil, the most experienced of the Afghan spinners, is also making a move. After playing 21 matches for MI Emirates and 11 for Dubai Capitals, the 24-year-old has accumulated an impressive 41 wickets at an average of 20.6. He will join the Sharjah Warriorz for the upcoming season, adding depth and experience to their bowling attack.
The pre-auction signings are not limited to Afghanistan's spinners. Other significant additions to various teams include Finn Allen, who will play for the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, and Marcus Stoinis, who joins the Dubai Capitals. Additionally, David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen will don the colors of Gulf Giants, while Adam Milne and James Vince will team up with Salamkheil at the Sharjah Warriorz.
