One of Alabama football's newest wide receivers could see the field much sooner than expected.

Noah Rogers, who suffered a lower-body injury at Alabama's A-Day spring game, "had a chance to get on the field the last few days," Kalen DeBoer said in his post-fall camp practice press conference Monday Aug. 24. Rogers was seen taking reps during Alabama's Sunday practice per photos released by University of Alabama athletics.

"Going back to the spring game, A-Day, when the injury happened, the timeline he was on and what he expected, he's much ahead of that, and that's a tribute to his mindset, his positivity," DeBoer said. "From the time he was diagnosed, he is still up here and just was not going to let him deter from (moving) forward and making the most of every day he could. He's done that. Our team just celebrated him getting back out here and moving around. He's not doing team drills or anything like that. He's making the progression and he's much ahead of schedule that we originally thought."

In two seasons with the Wolfpack, Rogers had 68 catches for 919 yards and three touchdowns.

Rico Scott, Derek Meadows and freshman Cederian Morgan continue to compete for Alabama's third wide receiver slot behind Lotzeir Brooks and Ryan Coleman-Williams.

DeBoer said Brooks, who did not participate in Alabama's second fall camp scrimmage, was practicing and taking reps and is "close to full go."

Jeremiah Beaman injury update

DeBoer said Alabama defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman suffered an injury in Alabama's fall camp practice Sunday.

"Jeremiah did get hurt yesterday," DeBoer said. "We have an idea of what the injury is. I will wait to comment on it until we get a firm understanding, and that will probably be tomorrow."

Beaman had an ACL injury early in 2025 after playing in Alabama's season-opening loss against Florida State.

EJ Crowell injury update

Alabama freshman running back EJ Crowell is "slowly progressing" as he returns from an ankle injury that has kept him limited during his first fall camp.

"I'm hopeful that he will be ready for the first game," DeBoer said. "Can't say that definitively yet, but he was out there working into it, progressing."
