Angel Reese led the Atlanta Dream to a crushing 124-88 win over the hapless Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday. The three-time All-Star dominated with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 3 steals, while shooting a perfect 9-for-9, including 2-for-2 from 3-point range.
The Dream forward’s impressive display inevitably drew rave reactions from a usually hard-to-please WNBA world.

According to ESPN Insights, by “refusing to miss,” Reese became “the 3rd player in WNBA history with a 20-point double-double on 100% shooting in a game.”

The numbers alone were enough to get the WNBA community talking.

And she set the tone early.
Reese had 6 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals in the first quarter as Atlanta raced out to a 34-12 lead. Los Angeles played better after that, but the damage was already done. The Dream never gave the Sparks a chance to make it interesting.
This season, the former Chicago Sky star is now averaging 15.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. After the flawless shooting night, her efficiency climbed to 43.1%, including 19.6% from deep.
For one night, nothing was polarizing about Reese’s play. She couldn’t miss, stuffed the stat sheet, and helped Atlanta run away with the game. The criticism from her usually loud detractors can wait. Thursday belonged to Reese.
