The Arizona Cardinals are making moves to strengthen their roster as they prepare for the upcoming NFL season. According to CBS Sports' Matt Zennitz, the team is expected to sign cornerback D'Shawn Jamison to their practice squad, filling a vacancy that had been left open.

Jamison's signing follows a visit with the Cardinals, as noted in the NFL transaction report on Wednesday. Such visits often precede official announcements, which the team is likely to make on Thursday. This addition could be a pivotal step for the Cardinals as they finalize their roster ahead of the season.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Jamison entered the NFL in 2023 as a rookie free agent after a collegiate career at the University of Texas. He initially signed with the San Francisco 49ers, where he began his professional journey. Over the past two seasons, he has also been associated with the Carolina Panthers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, gaining valuable experience along the way.

During his time with the Panthers from August 2023 to August 2024, Jamison participated in 15 games, starting in one. He recorded a total of 10 tackles and one pass breakup, showcasing his potential as a defensive asset. His contributions were not limited to defense; he also played a significant role on special teams, logging 155 snaps.

In 2024, Jamison spent the entire season on the Steelers' practice squad, before transitioning to a more active role in 2025, where he bounced between the practice squad and the active roster. In that season, he appeared in three games, contributing 11 snaps on special teams. His versatility also extends to kick returning, adding another dimension to his skill set.

The addition of Jamison to the Cardinals' practice squad not only enhances their defensive depth but also reflects the team's commitment to developing young talent. As the Cardinals gear up for the season, they will be looking to integrate Jamison into their system, potentially leveraging his experience and skills to strengthen their secondary.

As the NFL season approaches, the Cardinals continue to make strategic moves to ensure they are competitive. Signing Jamison could prove beneficial as they navigate the challenges of the season ahead, with hopes of making a significant impact in the league.
