The Cardinals bounced back from last week’s last-second loss to the Panthers to put together a fairly complete game in a 27-14 win over the Raiders on Thursday night.
Starters got snaps, including Jacoby Brissett and Jeremiyah Love, as they built a 21-14 lead at the half that they’d never relinquish over the final 30 minutes. Surprisingly, Love got 14 touches on the night, all of which came in the first half. That’s a bit aggressive for your third-overall pick in his first preseason game, but he nonetheless came out unscathed after a strong outing.
Love took 11 carries for 58 yards and caught three more passes for 13 more. He showed off that burst and speed that made him such a high draft pick, and he even threw in a smooth hurdle for good measure.
It’s wildly early in the process still, but the first look at Love was everything fans hoped it would be.
