Arizona State football leads FBS in travel increase in 2026

Sparky will be getting a whole lot of airline points after this upcoming football season.

Arizona State has a greater increase in football travel than any other team in the country, according to data compiled by The Action Network. With an increase of 9,466 miles, ASU leads the FBS for travel increases.

The trip to Wembley Stadium in London for the Union Jack Classic against Kansas on Sept. 19 is the biggest reason for the jump in ASU’s travel. The overseas journey from Tempe to London is the longest trip of the 2026 FBS season at 10,518 round-trip miles. The team equipment bus left for London in late July.

ASU will travel 18,375 miles overall and cross a combined 15 time zones during the season. The Sun Devils are No. 5 in FBS when it comes to overall travel. Hawai’i, Stanford, North Dakota State and Sacramento State are ahead. Arizona State leads the Big 12 conference, with Kansas coming in at second at 13,631. ASU’s away games include: Texas A&M, Texas Tech, BYU, UCF and Arizona.

ASU opens up the season on Sept. 5 at home against Morgan State.
