Arsenal have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Brighton midfielder Jack Hinshelwood, with Mikel Arteta’s side preparing to step up their interest in the England Under-21 international.
According to The Sun, Arsenal officials have already made contact with Hinshelwood’s representatives and are preparing an offer for the 21-year-old, who has become a priority target ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Hinshelwood’s versatility is understood to be a major attraction for Arteta. The Brighton academy graduate can operate in central and holding midfield, while also filling in at either full-back position.

Manchester City are also monitoring the situation and could make preliminary contact with Brighton.
Brighton are understood to value Hinshelwood at between £43 million and £51 million, while the player still has three years remaining on his contract.
Hinshelwood has made 79 senior appearances since breaking into Brighton’s first team in 2023. His development has now attracted attention from three of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
Arsenal’s interest comes as Arteta continues to look for players capable of providing greater depth and tactical flexibility across his squad.
