Aston Villa have made an approach to sign Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki after his failed move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Athletic claims that Villa are prepared to pay a fee in the region of £25 million for the 23-year-old Japanese international.
PSG reportedly had an agreement with Parma, but the transfer fell through.
Villa have Suzuki on a list of targets which also includes RC Lens star Robin Risser. They potentially need a replacement for Emiliano Martinez, who wants to leave the club this summer.
Talks have resumed with Serie A giants Juventus for the transfer of the Argentina international, necessitating the move for Suzuki.
Villa are resigned to the possibility of losing Martinez, whose wish to leave the club dates back over a year.
Suzuki is one of the most highly-rated young goalkeepers in Europe, having impressed in the last two seasons for Parma.
