All off days are much-needed, but they are especially welcome this month where we will lose two of them to makeup games. So today is probably especially sweet for the Bravos before a grueling 10-game stretch:
- Finishing this homestand with three games vs. AZ
- A series vs. MIN
- The one makeup vs. CHI from 6/11
- A Player’s Weekend series vs. MIL, including the Little League Classic on Sunday, 8/23
That’s right, the only other day you’ll see an off day thread in August is on Monday the 24th. Yay for us, the baseball sickos. Not as yay for the players, probably.
What to WatchThere’s a thin slate of games tonight, but let us know if you’re tuning into the Field of Dreams game (on Netflix? sure?) to see the Twins and Phillies square off starting at 7:30 pm ET.
Alleged Braves-spurner Jacob deGrom is starting tonight as the Rangers take on the Los Angeles Angels. Also happening on the West Coast is one that could have implications for us and our chances for a postseason bye: Brewers and Dodgers is at 10:10 pm ET.
