FC Utrecht have announced the signing of Sem van Duijn from AZ Alkmaar on loan for the 2026/2027 Eredivisie season. The 22-year-old striker has a year in which to convince Utrecht to pick up the purchase option they have agreed with AZ Alkmaar as part of the loan deal. Van Duijn gets to link back up with former Telstar head coach Antonio Correia, who left the side to take over at Utrecht this summer.
Van Duijn made a name for himself in the amateur leagues with Quick Boys. Prior to joining AZ Alkmaar in 2024, he scored 22 goals in 70 games for the side, with 19 of these coming in 38 games during the 2023/2024 season. The striker only played two games for the AZ Alkmaar senior team, with most of his time spent with Jong AZ Alkmaar in the second tier. Over the course of two seasons he scored 15 goals for the side in 43 games.
Van Duijn had a successful spell on loan at Telstar with Correia last season. In 16 games for the then newly promoted side he scored five goals and provided two assists.
