The Hoops opened talks over a possible move for the 28-year-old last week as Martin O’Neill looks to strengthen his goalkeeping options, although no formal bid has yet been made.
Toth is entering the final year of his contract at Ewood Park and has rejected the offer of fresh terms, leaving Blackburn facing a decision over his future this summer.
Udinese had been named among the clubs showing an interest in the Hungary international, but Sky Sports News now reports that the Serie A side are not pursuing a deal.
There remains interest elsewhere in Europe, although the Udinese development removes one of the clubs previously linked with rivalling Celtic for his signature.
Former Hoops boss Tony Mowbray has already acknowledged that Blackburn could lose Toth this summer and even referenced the prospect of Champions League football when discussing the goalkeeper’s future amid Celtic’s interest.
Toth’s stock has risen considerably following an impressive 2025/26 campaign at Ewood Park, where his performances earned him Blackburn’s Players’ Player of the Year award.
He has also established himself at senior international level with Hungary, adding further pedigree to a potential move to Celtic.
Celtic are continuing to assess their options between the posts and Toth is not the only goalkeeper under consideration, with 21-year-old Leo Cavallius also on the club’s radar.
