Barcelona have reportedly reached an agreement with Eredivisie side Ajax over a summer transfer for young full-back Jofre Torrents.
According to Diario Sport, Ajax have agreed to pay €6 million for 50% of the player’s rights. Torrents is now set to head to Amsterdam for a medical and to sign his contract with the club.
Torrents will join goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen in leaving Barcelona for Ajax as Deco and Co. continue to shape the squad ahead of the start of the new season.
The 19-year-old made his La Liga debut for Barcelona at the start of last season against Real Mallorca but hasn’t been able to force his way into the first team on a regular basis.
Torrents did feature in pre-season for Hansi Flick’s side but the decision has now seemingly been taken for him to move on this summer.
More departures are expected in the coming weeks, with youngsters such as Hector Fort, Marc Casado, Tommy Marqués, Guille Fernández and Toni Fernández also expected to leave.
