Barcelona defender has a ‘serious offer’ from Man United; waiting for talks with club

The future of Alejandro Balde has dominated the headlines in the Barcelona camp in recent days, with the player strongly linked with a move away from Camp Nou in the final week of the transfer market.

A host of clubs have been linked with a move for Balde, including Manchester United, who are in the market for a new left-back this summer.

Balde, for his part, is not a part of Barcelona’s plans for the new season, as the player was notably excluded from the squad vs Elche CF.

According to Helena Condis, Balde has a serious offer from Manchester United as speculation over his future at Camp Nou continues.

The Premier League giants are ready to sign the Spanish international, who struggled with form and fitness last season.

Even in pre-season, Balde failed to impress new coach Hansi Flick. The Barcelona coach, for his part, has no shortage of options, having roped in Joao Cancelo on a permanent deal.

Not to mention, Xavi Espart impressed with his performance at left-back against Elche and could be a real option in the first team this season.

Keeping that in mind, a move away from Camp Nou could make sense for Balde, but nothing has been decided yet.

The report adds that Balde will not take any official step surrounding his future until he gets the final say from Barcelona.

For now, no one from the Barcelona hierarchy has informed him that the club are actively trying to sell him before the transfer window comes to an end.

That being said, the Spanish international does feel he is being pushed out of the club, which was evident by his exclusion from the team to face Elche CF. For the first time, he is starting to have doubts about his future.

Moreover, Barcelona are yet to define his role if he stays at the back. Until these talks take place, Balde will stay put and hold off on responding to any offer from Manchester United.
