Barcelona are gearing up for an important week ahead, as the club race against time to sign a new striker.
Their pursuit of top target Julian Alvarez hasn’t amounted to anything, which has led the club to consider potential alternatives, in their quest to sign a new number nine this summer.
While the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Viktor Gyokeres and Luis Suarez have been linked with a move to Barcelona lately, the club are also interested in a relatively less popular Nicolo Tresoldi.

According to Gerard Romero, Barcelona have prepared a plan to make a move for Tresoldi next week, provided their pursuit of Alvarez falls through.
Born in Cagliari, Tresoldi is a German with Italian descent. He currently plies his trade for Club Brugge, notably racking up 26 goals in 61 appearances for the club.
Aged 22, he has some experience in Germany as well, having played in 80 matches for Hannover, largely in the second division of the Bundesliga.
Romero believes Tresoldi is waiting for a move to Barcelona, though Club Brugge are unlikely to let him go for cheap.
The Belgian outfit are expected to demand at least €50 million for the services of the German forward.

Given the quantum of options surrounding Barcelona right now, Tresoldi might be the club’s best bet, as far as finding an alternative to Alvarez is concerned.
At 22, the German is much younger than the likes of Suarez, Lautaro and Gyokeres. And at €50 million, he is significantly cheaper than most options available in the market.
Tresoldi may not have had the experience at the highest level of football. But he does possess a good physique and has shown immense goalscoring ability during his time at Club Brugge.
Barcelona have already found a bit of success signing Jesse Bisiwu from Brugge this summer and there is no reason why the club cannot take another gamble by signing Tresoldi.
