The Chicago Bears were back on the practice field at Halas Hall on Thursday for their 13th practice of training camp, which started outdoors but was moved inside due to lightning. It was the team's final practice before the preseason kicks off Saturday against the Cleveland Browns.
There were some injury updates during Thursday's practice, including left tackle Braxton Jones, defensive back Cam Lewis and linebacker D'Marco Jackson making their returns. But cornerback Tyrique Stevenson wasn't spotted at practice, which opened the door for rookie Malik Muhammad to get starting reps opposite Jaylon Johnson outside. Wide receiver Kaden Davis continues to make plays with backup quarterback Tyson Bagent, and we could see that connection a lot on Saturday.
Here are some observations, from media members in attendance, following Thursday's training camp practice:
Braxton Jones, Cam Lewis, D'Marco Jackson return to practiceThat's a wrap on today's #Bears training camp practice:
- B. Jones (limited), C. Lewis, D. Jackson back
- No Gordon, Sweat, Stevenson
- Amegadjie took LT1 reps
- McCloud fast on TD from Keenum
- K. Davis TD from Bagent to end
- Bagent, van den Berg to podium shortly. #DaBears

With Stevenson out, Malik Muhammad played opposite Jaylon Johnson.
Amegadjie was with the first-team at LT all day.
Best plays of the day:
Case Keenum hit Ray Ray McCloud for a deep score.
Tyson Bagent hit Kaden Davis on the first play of the situational drill for a 72 yard touchdown.
Play of the day was Case Keenum hitting Ray-Ray McCloud in stride for a long TD. He got behind the defense. #Bears
— Zack Pearson (@Zack_Pearson) August 13, 2026Tyson Bagent and Kaden Davis continue to connectI think that’s the third time #Bears practice has ended with a Tyson Bagent TD to Kaden Davis.
Will be interesting to see how often those two connect in Saturday’s preseason game.
The Bears ended practice with Tyson Bagent's deep shot to Kaden Davis for a touchdown.
Left tackle Braxton Jones, safety/nickel back Cam Lewis and linebacker D'Marco Jackson all returned to practice, too.
Back in from a shorter #Bears practice. They started outside but moved inside due to lightning in the area.
Players I didn't see out there:
- Tyrique Stevenson
- William Wright
- Terell Smith
- Jaylon Jones
- Tony Fields
- Luke Newman
- Braxton Jones
- Zavion Thomas
- Montez…
