Bills trade Sedrick Van Pran-Granger to Colts

Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane has made his August trade, shipping third-string center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger to the Indianapolis Colts.

Over the past few years, the “player plus a future seventh for a future sixth” has become essentially the lowest-cost for a player in a trade, yet it’s much better for the Bills to get something in return for a player likely to be cut later today.

Van Pran-Granger was a fifth-round pick in 2024 out of Georgia but lost the backup center job to veteran Lloyd Cushenberry this summer. The latter candidate has 80 games of starting experience and was Joe Brady’s center at LSU for the famous national-title winning season in 2019.

Believe it or not, this is the 13th August trade of the Beane era in Buffalo and the fifth made on August 30.
