For former Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers, being inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2026 was one of the highest honors of his career in the sport. And the man himself spoke at length with senior Andscape reporter Marc J. Spears about his induction earlier this month.
The two got into why the nod means so much to the 2008 champion coach, and calling his brother to talk about how their mother would have seen the honor and achieving his goal of entering the Hoops Hall while still an ative head coach in the NBA. He also got into Miami Heat head honcho Pat Riley’s influence on his career, the 2008 Celtics title, and the people who helped shape his career into Hall of Fame form.
Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about Doc's iconic career and his Hoops Hall induction.
