The landscape of college football is constantly evolving, and this offseason has been particularly transformative for the Colorado State Rams. A number of notable players from the 2025 roster have found new homes, marking a significant shift for the program.
One of the most talked-about departures is quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi. After a challenging season and the firing of head coach Jay Norvell, Fowler-Nicolosi chose to leave the Rams. During his time at Colorado State, he played in 31 games and amassed nearly 7,000 passing yards. However, inconsistency plagued his performance. This offseason, he transferred to Michigan, where he faces competition from freshman Tommy Carr, who has secured the backup quarterback position behind starter Bryce Underwood. As it stands, Fowler-Nicolosi will enter the season as the third-string quarterback.
Jackson Brousseau, who stepped in as the starting quarterback following Fowler-Nicolosi's departure, also made a move during the offseason. Another key player, linebacker Owen Long, led the nation in tackles during the 2025 season with an impressive total of 151. Long has transferred to Arizona State, where he is anticipated to take on a starting role, further solidifying the Sun Devils’ defense.
Running back Javion Kinnard made a splash as a freshman, contributing with touchdowns in rushing, receiving, and punt returns. He has now joined San Diego State, where he is listed as the No. 2 running back on the depth chart. Meanwhile, Jalen Dupree, who led the Rams with 508 rushing yards last season, has transferred to Kansas and is currently positioned as the No. 3 running back.
Rocky Beers, a tight end who led Colorado State in receiving with 388 yards and seven touchdowns, has made the move to Oklahoma. He is listed as co-No. 1 tight end alongside Hayden Hansen. Similarly, Lloyd Avant, who contributed 417 rushing yards and was a valuable kick returner, has also transferred to Oklahoma and is listed as co-No. 1 running back with Xavier Robinson.
Jaxxon Warren, another tight end with high potential, faced injuries that limited his impact. After scoring a touchdown in the season opener against Washington, he was sidelined for the remainder of the season. Warren has since transferred to North Carolina, but did not see action in the Tar Heels' first game of the season.
Jordan Ross, a highly-rated recruit who struggled to make a significant impact at Colorado State, has transferred to Arizona. However, he is not listed among the nine receivers on the Week 1 depth chart. Tanner Morley and Christian Martin, both integral parts of the Rams' offensive line, have also found new homes. Morley transferred to Kansas State and is listed as co-No. 1 left guard, while Martin is expected to be a likely starter at Illinois.
Lastly, punter Bryan Hansen, who averaged 48 yards per punt in 2025, has transferred to West Virginia, where he will continue his punting duties.
