Thunder is back!
The Denver Broncos welcomed a brand-new Thunder team in a Twitter/X post on Wednesday morning. The new team is comprised of Dr. Kelly Tisher (program lead and veterinarian), Elizabeth Tisher (program lead), Gretchen Flynn (trainer and rider), Phillip Flynn (trainer) and, of course, a new Thunder horse.
Less than 10 days after the retirement of the old Thunder team, the Broncos once again have a new live mascot. The Walton-Penner ownership group has tried to keep the traditions of the team before them intact, so it was important that a new Thunder team be chosen.

"For more than three decades, Thunder created lasting memories for fans as an iconic part of our gameday experience and community outreach," Broncos owner Carrie Walton Penner said of the horse team.
The new Thunder will not be seen in the preseason; the horse and team will make their 2026 debut during the Broncos' home opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team announced.
The Broncos return to Empower Field at Mile High for their first home preseason contest against the Green Bay Packers on Friday evening.
