The Denver Broncos went on the road and defeated the Atlanta Falcons27-7 in their preseason opener on Friday evening. Following that win, here are Denver's best (and worst) player grades from Pro Football Focus.
Broncos best offensive players
- WR Courtland Sutton: 95.3
- LT Garett Bolles: 89.1
- RG Quinn Meinerz: 82.0
- QB Sam Ehlinger: 78.6
- RB Jonah Coleman: 78.2
Sutton hauled in all three of his targets for 60 yards, including a 40-yard grab that set up the team's one-yard touchdown run to take an early 7-0 lead.
Broncos worst offensive players
- WR Kyrese Rowan: 35.7
- OT Frank Crum: 40.8
- TE Lucas Krull: 41.6
- RB Jaleel McLaughlin: 44.5
- RT Mike McGlinchey: 45.5
McLaughlin started well, rushing six times for 24 yards, but he lost a fumble, which led to Atlanta's only touchdown of the game.
Broncos best defensive players
- OLB Jonah Elliss: 91.3
- OLB Que Robinson: 87.2
- CB Sean Fresch: 86.7
- DE Malcolm Roach: 82.2
- DB JL Skinner: 77.2
Skinner totaled five tackles (including one tackle behind the line and one stop on special teams) and broke up a pass. He's fighting for a spot on the active roster as a backup safety and special teamer.
Broncos worst defensive grades
- OLB Nik Bonitto: 30.1
- DE Eyioma Uwazurike: 30.3
- NT D.J. Jones: 38.9
- CB Ja'Quan McMillian: 43.5
- DE Tyler Onyedim: 52.7
Those grades seem harsh considering how dominant Denver's first-team defense was.
Broncos special teams grades
- ST Reese Taylor: 79.9
- LS Mitchell Fraboni: 63.9
- KR Cam Ross: 61.3
- P Jeremy Crawshaw: 63.0
- K Wil Lutz: 55.8 (FG) 60.0 (KO)
Undrafted rookie long snapper Luke Basso (27.6) had a rough night, drawing the worst grade in the kicking game.
