The Cleveland Browns traded Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams this offseason, landing multiple draft picks and young edge rusher Jared Verse in return.

After trading the best edge rusher in the NFL, it would not be a surprise for the Browns to fall well outside the top rankings at the position. And yet, that didn't happen, according to one analyst.

ESPN's Mike Clay ranked the Browns at 10th in the NFL at the "Edge rusher" position, even after they traded Garrett. Despite trading maybe the best edge rusher in the last decade, the Browns are still a top-10 unit along the edge.

Browns ranked inside top-10 of edge rusher rankings by ESPN

Clay ranked the Browns at No. 10, and it's a very interesting ranking that seems to weight Verse's impact heavily.

Verse is taking Garrett's spot on the roster, and Alex Wright, Isaiah McGuire, Julian Okwara, Logan Fano, and a few other depth pieces round out the edge rusher room.

Losing Garrett is a massive loss, and yet the Browns still have a top-10 edge rushing group, according to Clay, and it's really thanks to Verse and Wright.

Verse is a 25-year-old edge rusher coming off a 7.5-sack season for the Rams last year. He's a good edge rusher and should be a nice asset on a young, ascending defense.

Wright can't be underrated either, as the 25-year-old edge is coming off a 5.5-sack season opposite Garrett in the best season of his NFL career.

This new edge rusher duo should be solid for the Browns; it's just unexpected for Clay to rank this duo, along with their other depth pieces, as a top-10 unit after they traded Garrett this offseason.

Verse is clearly making a huge impact, because if the Browns only got draft capital back for Garrett, their edge rusher group likely would've been in the bottom half of the league, not inside the top-10.

This is an impressive ranking for the Browns' edge rusher room. Despite losing the best player at the position, the addition of Verse has helped keep the Browns edge group as one of the NFL's best.
