The Cleveland Browns had their first preseason game of the season on Saturday, and all eyes, of course, were on their quarterbacks. Would you expect anything less?

This quarterback battle between second-year player Shedeur Sanders and veteran Deshaun Watson is about as heated as it gets. Both players got field time on Saturday, and while Sanders started out strong and connected with Luke Floriea for a 35-yard addition, it ended badly. Sanders threw an interception towards the end of the game, which is never a good look.

So, what happened? Sanders is opening up about the shaky moment.

After the game, Sanders spoke with reporters about his debut this season. When asked about the turnover, he said that he believed both his interception and Gabriel's pick in the game is because the ball was "sandy."

"That was just a moment just to laugh at between us, honestly, because it was the right decision," Sanders said about his conversation with Watson about their slip-ups. "I talked to him when he got to the sideline. I said, 'Hey, what happened?' He's like, 'Bro, the ball is sandy.'"

He added that the two had a good laugh over it. "I said, 'Bruh, I know the ball's sandy,'" he added. "So it was just a good moment to just talk about it and laugh about after it's over. But the decision-making and being able to execute what's out there was the best thing."

So, a sandy ball is the culprit for these Browns slip-ups. Let's hope the balls get less sandy come this fall.
