Buckeyes' WR Brandon Inniss Receives Ultimate Honor for the 2026 Season

Ohio State's veteran wide receiver Brandon Inniss received the ultimate honor on Saturday morning as he was awarded the Block O for next year. He will be wearing No. 0 for his final year in Columbus, an honor bestowed upon the leader of the Ohio State team.

Inniss comes into his fourth and final year at Ohio State, having had an already fascinating career. He came out of Florida as a five-star high school recruit and had early aspirations of being one of the next Buckeye greats.

He was never able to take that final leap up into the upper echelon of the pass catchers and kept getting passed over time and time again by future NFL stars.

Throughout his career, Inniss has just 51 catches for 505 yards and five touchdowns. Last season was his best year, when he had 36 catches for 271 yards and three scores.

However, what has always stood out about Inniss is his mental and physical toughness. Sure, he was never getting the top targets in a game, but when Ohio State needed a first down, they went to Inniss. When they needed a tough catch, they went to Inniss.

When the Buckeyes needed a big play, they went to Brandon Inniss, and he would come up with the play again and again.

Case in point, on 3rd down against the Michigan Wolverines last year, trailing 6-0, they went to Inniss, and he made a catch for a touchdown to get the scoring going.

Now, heading into his final season, he has a major responsibility on his shoulders.

There is a huge question mark about the Buckeyes' No. 1 receiver versus their receivers two through five. Jeremiah Smith is going to be the best player in college football; we all know that.

Behind him, there are six guys fighting for the next four spots, and Inniss needs to be one of them.

Giving him the Block O seems to point to him being a part of the solution in that room, but the jury is still out.

Regardless if Inniss is going to be a primary target this year or not, he is definitely going to lead that group of young players to become what they need to be.

Inniss is one of those Buckeyes who is going to be remembered forever in Columbus. He has never done anything that has jumped off the page, but he has done everything to the best of his ability.

He truly loves being an Ohio State Buckeye, and next year he will have the ultimate honor of wearing the Block O all season long.
