Bud Clark injury update: Latest news on Seahawks DB after being carted off

The Seattle Seahawks have an injury concern with safety Bud Clark in the first half of the preseason Week 2 game against the Tennessee Titans.

Clark suffered an injury after a play on the Titans’ first offensive series in the first quarter.

Clark appears to be dealing with a lower leg injury and he is being carted off the field, according to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.

In what is more bad news, it looked like an air cast was being put on the Seahawks safety, Condotta added.

While we obviously hope the injury is not significant, it is not looking good for the Seahawks’ second-round pick initially.

Clark was the Seahawks’ second-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft and was slated to play a depth role in his first season in the NFL.

Head coach Mike Macdonald has expressed how impressed he has been with the rookie this offseason.

“Bud’s one of those rookies that we’re asking a lot of him right now, and I’m impressed with how he’s handling it,” Macdonald said. “It’s not perfect, but how he goes about his business is what we’re looking for. He needs to trust that he is going to come out of the fog and take it from there. It’s important to start building a relationship with those guys and having a feel for the speed of the game with the ones and how we communicate and how we play, and he’s doing a good job.”

If Clark is out for an extended period of time, which looks certain at this early stage, Seattle is going to need backups like AJ Finley, D’Anthony Bell and others to step up.

Clark was a star at TCU before entering the NFL.

Over six years there, Clark recorded 138 tackles, including 3.5 for loss, 15 interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns, and 21 passes defensed.

He was twice named second-team All-Big 12, once in 2024 and then again in 2025.
