On her first trip north of the border, Caitlin Clark was made to try some authentic Canadian snacks by Sophie Cunningham.

Cunningham and Clark recorded content earlier in the day before their game against the Toronto Tempo, where they tried out Canadian snacks.

This included them trying the iconic Lay’s ketchup chips, along with gummy bears and ginger beer. But it appears Clark isn’t a huge fan.

A reporter asked Caitlin Clark her thoughts on ketchup chips and other Canadian snacks after the Indiana Fever’s win over the Toronto Tempo.

She joked that she didn’t read the comments from the fans who were disappointed in her reaction to ketchup chips, but did acknowledge how much fun she had trying some other Canadian snacks.

“Maybe that’s good, I try not to (read comments)… My favourites were those sour gummy bears, I don’t know what they’re called.

“The coffee crisps as well, Jackie told me we had that in America. I’ve never had that before. So maybe I just need to be out and about a little bit more.

“But it was fun. I have definitely had ginger beer before, so I don’t know what Sophie and Lexi were talking about. That was spicy ginger beer. I feel like all ginger beer is spicy.

“So it must have been the marketing on it, and it certainly got us to bite. But other than that, just fun. That’s what I love about going to different places.

“You get to experience their culture and different things. My waiter last night told me you guys didn’t have ranch here. I had Chick-Fil-A today, those guys definitely have ranch. So I was also really confused about that.

“Lexi and Sophie told me a lot of people left a lot of comments that for us when we come back here, after the Fever break to try a bunch of different things. So probably a part two coming as well.”

For Clark, her first visit to Toronto proved to be a huge success. Not only did she drop 24 points and 7 assists to lead the Fever to a win, but she got to experience a different cuisine and culture for the first time.

And ketchup chips aside, the former University of Iowa standout seems to have had a good time during her time in Canada.
