Caitlin Clark secures AP, WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors

After fueling the Indiana Fever to three wins over the past week, Caitlin Clark has secured her second AP WNBA Player of the Week acknowledgment of the season.

In the three games played during the week spanning from Aug. 10 to Aug. 16, the former Hawkeye scored a cumulative 77 points this past week across three games, which was the most points scored by any player in the WNBA over the span.

With an average of 25.7 points on 50.9% shooting, Clark had the second-highest points-per-game average in the league. Meanwhile, Clark led the league with 29 total assists and 9.7 assists per game in that time frame.

In Indiana's win over the New York Liberty (Aug. 11) and the Dallas Wings (Aug. 14), Clark recorded back-to-back double-doubles, which now places her one shy of tying Minnesota Lynx's Courtney Williams for the second-most by a guard in WNBA history.

Her most recent AP Player of the Week distinction of the season pairs with her nod for the honor on July 20. Clark was also named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the fourth time this season, adding to her impressive collection of honors that includes WNBA Player of the Month for June.

With her Eastern Conference Player of the Week selection, Clark becomes the second Indiana Fever player to earn four Player of the Week honors in a single season, joining Tamika Catchings, who did so in 2012 en route to the team’s WNBA Championship that year.
