The 2027 Pro Football Hall of Fame modern-era ballot is set to feature one of the most explosive core trios in Pittsburgh Steelers history. Former teammates Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, and Le'Veon Bell, famously known as the "Killer B's," all become eligible for Canton enshrinement.
Defensive captain Cameron Heyward believes all three deserve gold jackets.
Speaking on his podcast “Not Just Football with Cam Heyward,” the longtime defensive captain passionately defended his former teammates' legacies. He argued that sheer peak dominance on the football field should outweigh off-field headlines or abbreviated longevity.
"I think the Killer B's should get in," Heyward stated. "I mean, I don't know how you leave him out, Antonio Brown. I think he's going to have some trouble just because of everything that happened, but to me, it's not even a question that he's a Hall of Famer."
While Roethlisberger's two Super Bowl rings and top-10 passer metrics make him a consensus favorite, Brown’s off-field turbulence and Bell’s shortened peak after leaving Pittsburgh have sparked intense media debates among voters.
Heyward, however, believes the selection process should focus strictly on how dominant a player was at their absolute apex.
"Ben's beat every defense," Heyward noted. "Ben literally was a cheat code because he knew how to extend plays. He knew how to deliver in big moments."
When evaluating the overall standard for Canton, Heyward pushed back against over-complicating the ballot.
"When they're at the top of the game and the top of the food chain, you reward that and you say, 'This guy belongs in the Hall of Fame because he was at the peak of our game, and everybody knew it, and everybody respected it.'"
For Heyward, the peak era of Pittsburgh’s offense remains undeniable proof that all three belong in Canton.
