Los Angeles Sparks big Cameron Brink has finally shared her thoughts on the Sophie Cunningham-sparked debate over trans athletes in the WNBA.
Brink was the No. 2 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft and is expected to be among the league’s crop of talented future stars.
With her popularity and status, Brink has decided to weigh in on the current debate and on Enes Kanter’s recent actions. Safe to say, Brink had a very blunt answer, as she clearly declared her side.

“I think it’s a non-issue, and I think it’s people trying to come for the trans community. I just don’t stand up for that. I don’t even know what the —- his name is, Enes Kanter. He’s a stupid piece of —-, and I think a lot of people think that. I think he’s just trying to stay relevant.”
Kanter recently appeared at the Indiana Fever vs. Chicago Sky game as a fan and was removed from the arena by security after getting into a verbal altercation with Sky veteran Natasha Cloud.

Kanter’s escalation to force the WNBA to implement a blanket ban against trans athletes, a topic that became mainstream despite no trans athletes being in contention to play in the WNBA, because Fever’s Cunningham raised her personal feelings against that.
Brink chose not to comment on these matters up until now, but clearly she feels strongly about the on-court action being sidelined because everyone is focusing on these political issues.
Brink is averaging 9.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks this season after missing most of last season recovering from a torn ACL.
