Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur recently shared injury updates on running back Jeremiyah Love and quarterback Carson Beck ahead of their preseason finale against the Green Bay Packers.

In the battle between the brothers, Matt LaFleur’s Packers and Mike LaFleur’s Cardinals will look to test their squads as the regular season approaches.

Ahead of the game, LaFleur provided an update on Love and Beck and their recovery timelines.

Beck suffered a rib injury in the team’s Hall of Fame Game and did not feature in last week’s clash against the Dallas Cowboys.

When asked about the 24-year-old quarterback’s progress, LaFleur said Beck has been good during throwing sessions but remains a doubt for Friday’s game against the Packers.

“Good with the throwing session. Still TBD in terms of what this Friday will look like,” said LaFleur. It’s easy to magnify the quarterback position and the rookie and all that kind of stuff, but yeah, you get better at football by practicing and playing football. So when you’re not out there, it’s hard to get better, right? So he’s missed some days, but that’s no different than the nose guard.”

Beck’s availability for Friday’s game therefore remains uncertain.

Love, meanwhile, has been dealing with an ankle injury that kept him out of practice throughout the past week.

LaFleur said the running back is recovering well but confirmed he will not return to practice just yet.

“He’s doing well, progressing well, and kind of in the next phase of it,” LaFleur said. “He will not be on the field doing any sort of practice or anything like that right now.”

Based on LaFleur’s comments, Cardinals fans should not be surprised if neither Beck nor Love features against the Packers on Friday.
