CF Montréal has officially announced the acquisition of defender Viktor Radojević on loan from Chicago Fire FC, a move that will see the Serbian player join the Canadian club through the 2026 season. The agreement includes an option for an additional six months, as confirmed by both clubs on Wednesday.

As part of the transaction, CF Montréal will gain a 2026 international roster slot, while Chicago Fire FC will receive $100,000 in General Allocation Money. This strategic move reflects both teams' intentions to bolster their rosters as they navigate the ongoing Major League Soccer (MLS) season.

Radojević, who is just 22 years old, has already made a mark in MLS, providing one assist in 13 appearances for Chicago since joining the team last summer under the U22 Initiative deal. His experience prior to joining MLS includes stints with notable Serbian clubs such as Red Star Belgrade, Graficar Belgrad, and FK TSC, where he honed his skills as a left back.

In welcoming Radojević to the team, CF Montréal's managing director of recruitment and sporting methodology, Luca Saputo, expressed enthusiasm about the new addition. "We are pleased to welcome Viktor to CF Montréal. We were looking to add an option that matched the needs we had identified. We believe his profile will fit well within our group and that he will make a positive contribution to the team," Saputo stated.

This signing marks Radojević as the latest addition to a busy summer for CF Montréal, which has also seen the arrival of several key players, including Chilean superstar Alexis Sánchez, winger Dante Sealy, midfielder Dani Pereira, and defender Brayan Ceballos. These acquisitions reflect the club's commitment to improving their performance in the league.

Currently, CF Montréal finds itself in a challenging position, sitting 14th in the Eastern Conference with 21 points. Under the guidance of interim coach Philippe Eullaffroy, the team is looking to turn their fortunes around as they strive for a better standing in the league. The addition of Radojević could provide the necessary depth and talent to help the squad achieve its goals in the coming matches.

As the MLS season progresses, the impact of Radojević’s arrival will be closely monitored by fans and analysts alike, as CF Montréal aims to climb the standings and secure a more favorable position in the playoffs.
