Aces head coach Becky Hammon was ejected in the first half of the game after arguing a no-call. She received her first technical before charging toward officials as security, her assistant coaches, and A’ja Wilson tried to hold her back, resulting in her second technical foul.

Assistant coach Charlene Thomas-Swinson stepped up to take Hammon’s place after she left the game. During the postgame press conference, Thomas-Swinson addressed the situation. “She felt like A’ja had gotten fouled a couple times, and again, it’s the lens of the referee being able to not see the right angle, but she had asked for that a couple times, and unfortunately, this didn’t work in our favor.”

According to USA Today Sports, this was Hammons first ejection since June 2024 when the Aces lost to the Los Angeles Sparks.
