FC Bayern are back at Allianz Arena as they face RB Leipzig in the annual pre-season competition Telekom Cup. Harry Kane scored against his former club Tottenham Hotspur in a 4-0 victory last summer, but the England captain is unavailable for today’s game as he’ll only return to training on Monday alongside Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano.
RB Leipzig suffered their first pre-season defeat away at Leeds United last week. The game is part of an agreement between the clubs from Julian Nagelsmann’s move to Bayern in 2021. The revenue that will be generated from the game will cover the majority of the €3 million Bayern still owe Leipzig, according to BILD.
Nathaniel Brown starts for Bayern as fellow new signing Ismael Saibari could make his debut off the bench in front of home fans. After playing in every pre-season game so far, João Palhinha is out of the squad, while Josip Stanišić is absent with illness.
