UFC superstar Conor McGregor responded to the latest comments from Max Holloway, in which his rival called him “old” and “slow.”
McGregor lost via first-round TKO to Holloway in the main event of UFC 329, when he tore his ACL. The Irishman has since had surgery on his torn ACL, and he is expected to miss one year of action.
Conor McGregor Responds to Max HollowayIn an effort to drum up interest in a potential trilogy bout, Holloway posted a video on his YouTube channel where he spoke about the fight at UFC 329 with McGregor. In the video, Holloway said that McGregor felt “old” and “slow” during their fight.
McGregor heard what Holloway had to say, and he fired back at his long-time rival for the disparaging comments he made about him, taking a shot at Holloway for being the fighter who has absorbed the most head strikes in UFC history.
“There’s no way the most punched on face in ufc history (check the stats) is talking this way? wtf happened this guy?” McGregor wrote on X.

Will Conor McGregor Fight Max Holloway for a 3rd Time? The reason Holloway was talking smack about McGregor is that he wants to fight him for a third time, something which he has made clear is what he wants.
Holloway made a ton of money to fight McGregor at UFC 329, and as we all know, the fight was very easy for him, considering that McGregor suffered an injury TKO loss in the very first round, making it the easiest payday of Holloway’s career.
So, in that sense, it makes sense that Holloway wants to fight McGregor for a third time.
That being said, if Holloway truly wants the trilogy bout, then he will have to wait at least a year to step back into the Octagon, as McGregor needs to recover from ACL surgery and then complete a training camp before he can fight again.
Will Holloway and/or the UFC be willing to keep the Hawaiian star on the sidelines for that long? It remains to be seen if that is the case.
