Crosscutters beat Black Bears 6-4 in series opener

GRANVILLE, WV(WBRE/WYOU)-- The Williamsport Crosscutters scored twice in the eighth inning, and once more in the ninth to comeback on Thursday night for the 6-4 win. The Crosscutters grabbed the win over West Virginia as the team continues its "little league road trip."

Williamsport took the lead in the eighth inning off of a wild pitch from West Virginia's Dawson Hall. Nick Romano came home to score on the pitch, making the game 4-3 late. The Crosscutters added another run in the eighth thanks to a Santino Panaro bunt single, scoring James McCoy.

Luc Lavigueur and Davin Pollard each tossed two inning of work in relief on Thursday night. Lavigueur picked up the win, while Pollard earned the save.

The Crosscutters continue its road trip Friday night in West Virginia. First pitch at Kendrick Family Ballpark is at 7:00pm.
