Crosscutters start road trip with loss to State College

STATE COLLEGE, PA(WBRE/WYOU)— The Williamsport Crosscutters began its nine-game little league road trip with a 9-7 loss at State College. The Cutters are on their longest stint away from Bowman Field for the year as the Little League World Series takes over Williamsport, PA.

Crosscutters outfielder James McCoy, and first baseman Matt Williams each went deep on Tuesday night in the losing efforts. Both finished the night 2-for-4, with a home run and 2 RBI. Shortstop Sam DeCarlo also drove in a run for Williamsport, going 2-for-3 in the game. Nick Barone got the scoring started on Tuesday. The right fielder hit a double in the first inning to bring in DeCarlo.

Ryker Walton picked up the loss, in a 2.2 inning effort. Walton gave up five earned runs on six hits and two walks.

The Crosscutters hit the field against the Spikes on Wednesday night. First pitch in State College is at 6:35pm
