It was a quiet Friday in sports when all of a sudden the Cleveland Cavaliers and Charlotte Hornets made an NBA trade! Dennis Schroder -- the 32-year-old German native -- will join his 12th NBA franchise, helping out a young Hornets team as a seasoned vet. And Tre Mann -- the former 18th overall pick in 2021 by the Oklahoma City Thunder -- will head to the Cavs.

After the deal that sent LaMelo Ball to the Timberwolves, the Hornets were missing a good backup point guard. Enter Schroder who continues to be consistent -- he scores off the bench, he dishes some dimes and he's been on the NBA for the past 13 years, so he'll bring some veteran presence to a team with names like Hannes Steinbach, Brandon Miller, Coby White and Kon Knueppel. A minor deal, but one that might help a possible playoff team. GRADE: B

Mann has shown some flashes of talent over the years as a scoring guard off the bench and did shoot 40 percent from three in 2024-25.
