The Lions, in collaboration with their food and beverage partner, Levy, have unveiled a selection of new food options that promise to tantalize taste buds this season.
During a media preview held on September 2, the team introduced an array of dishes designed to reflect the rich culinary diversity of Detroit. Among the new offerings are butter chicken tacos, shrimp-loaded fries, and potstickers, which fans can enjoy alongside sweet treats like salt & pepper caramel corn and a sweet n’ salty ice cream bar.
One of the standout features of this year's menu is the introduction of interactive food and beverage options, as well as value deals that cater to fans looking for a great experience without breaking the bank. Matt Coleman, Levy's executive chef, expressed his enthusiasm for the new Food Passport initiative, which encourages fans to explore different cuisines from Detroit's neighborhoods.
“We are bringing in a lot of the different cultures and cuisines from the different neighborhoods within and surrounding Detroit and finding ways to bring it into stadium fare,” Coleman stated. This initiative allows fans to collect stamps by purchasing specific items that celebrate the city’s diverse culinary landscape, such as Corktown corned beef nachos and Brush Park BBQ chicken wings.
Fans who participate in the Food Passport program can enter to win exciting prizes based on the number of stamps they collect. For instance, collecting three stamps enters them for a chance to win Lions Loot, while six stamps could earn them a signed football from tight end Sam LaPorta. Completing the passport grants entry to win a signed jersey from defensive standout Aidan Hutchinson.
In addition to the Food Passport, Ford Field will continue its tradition of partnering with local restaurants to bring authentic Detroit flavors to the stadium. Newcomers like Xav’s Jammin Caribbean Fusion will offer dishes such as jerk chicken wings and chicken empanadas, while returning favorites like Berkley’s Bombshell Treat Bar will bring back its popular caramel corn and ice cream bars.
Another returning vendor, Paradise Street Eats & Biryani, will serve Indian-fusion street food, including butter chicken tacos and refreshing pomegranate lemonade. Fans will also benefit from the “Power Hour” promotion, which offers discounted food and beverage options during the first hour after the gates open before each home game.
