Dexter Lawrence dominated the Bears in joint practice with Bengals, and Ted Karras loved it

The Chicago Bears held a joint practice with the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday, and Dexter Lawrence stole the show.

The big nose tackle had his way with the Bears’ offensive line, recording a sack and tipping a pass at the line of scrimmage and then intercepting it himself.

It was exactly the kind of performance that shows why the Bengals were willing to give up a top-10 pick for him.

While all Bengals fans and players are excited about the prospects of Lawrence making big contributions during the upcoming season, one player was particularly happy.

Starting center Ted Karras, who has been matching up against Lawrence all offseason in practice, was glad it wasn’t him being punished this time.

“It was f****ing great,” Karras said about the Bears’ struggles against Lawrence. “It validated a lot of my insecurities.”

The veteran center also felt like the offense is rounding into shape. “It was a great day,” Karras said. “A couple of play actions could have been better in the base downs period. Other than that, it was smooth sailing.”
